“The art of the deal”, in front of everyone, no back door hidden agenda? Trump and Putin have a lot in common. Both leaders are accelerating the new world order in which they both are less relevant. Both have managed to burn through their resources and weaken their global power.
Trump loves tariffs, which must be right up there in Donald’s misleading of America. Now with prices rising and farmers forced off their land because of the higher costs of everything, and his MAGA base realizing they are following the Pied Piper off of a cliff. The only benefactors of Trump’s policy are the wealthiest 1 percent.
America is in a decline that they will never fully recover from. Their currency will no longer control international trade, Their unemployment numbers will spike as the tariffs force factories to close because of the higher cost of raw materials. They have tossed all their allies under the bus while trying to extort them at the same time.
America’s war with Iran is the final nail in their coffin. The entire world now sees how pathetic and mismanaged the US has become under Trump. They have managed to burn through half their inventory of conventional missiles, while Iran has now taken control of the Strait of Hormuz.
China is watching the US self implode and isolate itself from its allies. Never has the US been so weak and never will China be as strong as it is now. Trump is in China as I am writing this article and we all know it will not go well for the US. How do I know this? What has Donald ever done that has gone well?
Putin marched in to Ukraine expecting a quick and easy win, in which he could ransack the wealth of its neighbour and return home with the bounty and receive applause from his countrymen. This did not go the way that he hoped. Mismanagement, corruption and a ill informed read of the lay of the land in which nobody wants to tell the truth because the messenger of bad news is tossed out a third story window.
Ukraine had been preparing for the invasion and with the help of the West with supplying intel and weapons was able to stop the initial blitz to Kyiv. Now after 4 years of fighting Russia has drained its stockpile of armour and wealth, while racking up more than a million causalities.
Russia is left with a war economy of making weapons which are proving second rate and relying on its oil production to keep the war going. While Ukraine is getting stronger and now is a world leader in producing drones and is able to strike deep into the heartland of Russia with its domestically produce medium range ballistic missiles so no target is to far.
Putin now sees he can not win so his best option will be to end the war, but on what terms?
